Hi there! I'm Crystal, and as a mom of 6 (with 2 teens and a college student!), I know just how life-changing it is to teach your kids SMART money habits before they leave the house!

When my husband and I got married 22 years ago, we committed to stay out of debt while he went to law school. We lived on literal beans and rice (we had a $30 weekly grocery budget for all our meals for the two of us! 🤯).

We likely would have never set that goal (or been able to follow through with it!) had it not been for all of the financial skills our parents taught us as teenagers. I look back and realize that we are where we are today — debt-free, mortgage-free, running our own successful business, having a lot of flexibility in our schedule, and able to save aggressively and give generously — because of the amazing money habits our parents modeled for us and instilled in us.

I want my teens (and your teens!) to experience this same freedom one day! And I believe this starts with encouraging your teen to earn their own money from a young age. Your teen will quickly learn the value of a dollar if they have to pay for their own wants with their own money!
